Hi Jessica and Beverly I too am hoping that from time to time you will let us know how you are going Jesse. Maybe even some words of wisdom about how you are coping with the calm times and more turbulent times of your new journey with Mike (LOL - it's none of my business! but I'm guessing you will handle the unexpected, the stormy and the quieter more peaceful moments with Mike just like you did on your 7 month journey around the world). To Beverly from the Apple Isle. I don't think I can really help. I don't know much at all about the condition you are coping with. Let me say, if you want to take a leaf out of Jessica's (soon to be published) book - one thing that will always stick in my memory is her comment that after being knocked down by a huge wave in the southern ocean she came up smiling - because she survived what the world was throwing at her. That is a great attitude to take through life I reckon. If you could perhaps realise that there are millions of people around the world who have downers from time to time and hopefully realise that one of the many ways to help you through those tough times is to wear a bit of Jessica's magical attitude then hopefully it will give you just a little extra push to lift your spirits. Best of luck Beverly. I know it is easy for me to say those things and I'm not sure what you are enduring in your life at the moment. Being kind to others (as you have shown in your recent blog) is I'm sure something else that will help you. 06-20-10 @ 21:35 Hi Jessica, Seems like a long time since I’ve written to you, things are quieting down somewhat. But I have some nearly good news for you Australians, Marcus Ambrose almost won the Sprint Cup Road Race in Sanoma Ca. today. He was leading the race with about seven laps to go and there was a caution flag thrown. While they were getting the track cleaned up everyone was just waiting for the green flag to be thrown again, Marcus was trying to conserve fuel and was shutting his engine off and coasting for a distance. But one time he couldn’t restart his engine and he fell back in line about six places. He then got it started and repositioned himself at the lead, but that was against the rules. The judges and referees made him go back to the seventh position and restart there. With only about six laps left Marcus didn’t stand much of a chance at winning. Jimmie Johnson went on to win the event. Even though I like the Hendricks Racing Team I still wanted to see Marcus win, but it was a costly mistake that he made. He proved himself as a driver and will eventually get his first win in NASCAR, I’m looking forward to that. It was one hell-uv-a race……..I hope all is well with you, I pick up little tid-bits of information from the newspapers and your info page and keep up with you that way. Good luck with the book, I’m really looking forward to reading it, and until then I’m wearing my “P” hat…lol… Take good care of yourself and write when you get a chance. Hi Jessica Beverly here from Tasmania) Golly gee whiz, I sure do miss you!!! I missing logging in to your website every day, sometimes two or three times. But...I thank GOD that you are home, safe and sound, with your future before you. Just remember, take Him with you and you can never go wrong...... I have just finished reading all blogs again. It never fails to make my heart soar when I read all the comments from the "Jessaholics" time and again. They are so upbeat, they love you so much and only want for your happiness in the future. What a great bunch of people you have "met" in these 8 months, 7 on sea and 1 more playing around on land. LOL. I love reading comments from Michael 75) [Hi Michael, miss you mate]; Samauri, have really missed all your wonderful information about sailing and travel [loved the pictures from the dinner, just so devastating that more people than 3 showed up, how rude after you went through all that trouble. But love the fact that I can now put a face to the names]. Stephen M, transplanted Aussie, God Bless You for all the work you have done for the world in the last 7 months that we know of, and since I am a transplanted American, living down-under, I thank you, thank you, thank you for the work you are doing down south with the oil spill. You were right in your comments, how can a country like the USA not get a handle on that oil spill. It buggers the imagination doesn't it? Mary from Maine, as always you are so gracious and gentle. Thank you, the world needs more people like you also. That is just a few I can mention just off the top of my head in bed, as always. I have had a stupid relapse of this depression and am back in bed all day. I know better in my head, but my body won't cooperate. God knows what He is doing with my life right now, but I don't and it is very frustrating. A few prayers from the Jessaholics would be much appreciated for God to give me the motivation and energy to slither out of this bed and get back into life, which is where I want to be. Our little Tenterfield Terrier, "Duke of Tasmania" that we bought from Sydney has been a God-send to me. When we first got him on 4 May, for the first week or so I was really good, I would get up and go outside with him for exercise and to potty, then all of a sudden my body crashed with pain and I had to hit the bed again. I do force myself to get up a few hours in the evening to play with him. He can't come in my bedroom because my Norwegian Forest Cat, Pudi, who weighs in at a whooping 7kg apx 15lbs) wouldn't eat him, she would just have to sit on him cause he only weighs 2.7kg apx 6lbs) to annililate him. He is so funny and fast though I laugh at him all day long. Whenever I have to get out of bed and "try" to get back in my room, of course he is right there 2cm behind me and he sneaks between my legs and like a whirlwind, wiggles into my room, scarfs up the cat's wet food before I can get him out before she figures out what he has done. It is hilarious to watch him. His little tail goes like a helicopter rotor the entire time cause he is so happy to be doing something "naughty". He starts Puppy Pre-School on 7 Jul. I ask that God will give me the energy to go out once a week to the vet office so this little puppy can learn to be a good little puppy and not rip up his pee pads into shreds like he does now. Every morning my house looks like a tornado has gone through it - I just groan and start picking little bitty pieces of paper up. While he tries to grab them out of my hands and re-apply them to the floor. But I do love him and I think he will be the best thing for me as far as helping me get moving and motivated. How can you stay in a sour mood when you open your door first thing in the morning and there is this little black & white puppy with his tail going like a rotor-router in circles just wanting to be picked up for some cuddling. You can't, you just have to smile at him and pick him up and your day turns from grey to bright yellow. I thank God for making little puppies and kittens and my budgie, Bird too). I HAVE to get well, I have a mini zoo in my house! Well Jessica, I have rambled on long enough, see what not having your blog to write to every day does to me? I have to cram all my experiences into one and it is next to impossible for me. However, that said, remember God is still right there beside you, no matter what you are doing, and His Guardian Angels are always guiding you towards what God's goal is for your life, all you have to do is follow Their lead because they will only lead you in the way God wants you to go. G'day Jess, I hope you are flat out enjoying yourself but I must admit I am still suffering a little from withdrawal symptoms that 210 days just went to quickly....anyway my dear I thought I'd let you know that I got me your Jesse poster today, actually I had to go down to the Post Office to pick it up, while the lady behind the counter was struggling to get the Bar Code scanner to scan the bar code on the tube I noticed her name tag just happened to read "Jess" I didn't have time to explain to her what being a Jessaholic was all about suffice to say I walked out of the Dandenong Post Office with a smirk on my face that lasted with me all day, well near enough....can't wait for August....can't wait for your next sail into the wide blue yonder...I hope everything is going okay....have you had that peaceful walk along the beach yet hopefully with no cameras tagging along!...cya....Clint - Melb Town

Hi Jesse Five sailors had to be rescued just off Cape Town this week - which made me think of you again and how brave you were tackling these often treacherous waters. You are indeed the 'youngestround'...remember your original website address?......yes, it was called 'youngestround'.....a long time before you set sail..well before you even acquired little EPL, well before sponsors joined you on board. Sweetheart, I see you have moved on, and now it's time for me to do so as well. Farewell my special friend...I know you will indeed fare well. I shall continue to take much interest in your new life, but I shall no longer 'follow' your every move. Jessica - we've been following you since you left Sydney in October. You have inspired our family in so many ways. You were also the tool used to teach an entire 3rd grade class (32 kids) about the Southern Hemisphere. They had fun researching many new places along the way. One child is planning to set up a website this summer to bring awareness about the trash in the Southern Atlantic. I am writing to ask you if your book is available for pre-order in the United States? An entire class of 8 year olds are in awe of you! Their parents are too! Hey Captain Jesse, We have been reading the latest comments to your most recent blogs and it looks like we are not the only ones that cannot let you young ladies go. Jessica it was great to see the turnout for your arrival at your home port. We are so proud of both of you young ladies. There is all of this “beat-up” in the media about the cost of rescues etc bla bla bla. As a tax payer I would happily send 100 planes and ships if I thought it would help. We are sure the press are going to try and belittle Abby, but in our view, she is bigger than all of them put together. She is also bigger than the great southern ocean…….it tried to take her and she fought it off and won. Abby succeeded at surviving her ordeal. It demonstrates her preparation, her strength of character, her focus and her resilience. We hope Abby can approach the media with the same determination you did after the altercation with the ship, when sailing down to Sydney. It was at that juncture we new you could do it. You held your head high, you were not going to be beaten, you were not going to let anything get in your way, least of all the ever hungry press. Some people quite simply do not understand the priceless value you young ladies have added to so many lives through your considerable achievements. You and Abby give so much inspiration to so many, we do not know how any person could raise any negative thoughts. Might we add, when you read the thousands of responses to your collective blogs it is obvious that on this subject, most concur with our view. I’ve been following you in the papers and it looks like your fairly active but still having a good time. This time of withdrawal is really a pain. I miss going through the maps, Google, and following you on your journey. It seemed like there was so much to do, following you on the maps, charting your course, checking on the weather and now “NOTHING”. It really is a bummer. But as I have said before ‘all good things come to and end’. I think I’m just feeling sorry for myself…lol… How are you doing on the book, I hope you’re getting it all together. There are so many memorable incidents that I read in your blogs, and it makes me wonder of all the things that you left out to save for the book. I’m really looking forward to reading it. That may help take the edge off these doldrums I’m going through.
